HOBY Idaho is dedicated to encouraging positive social change within our state by facilitating and empowering high school sophomores (known at HOBY as “ambassadors”) to discover their personal leadership skills, work together in group activities, and take these skill sets back to their own schools and communities.  We are seeking highly-motivated individuals to assist in this process at our local seminar by filling the roles below.

Junior Staff (Under 21 Years Old)

  1. Complete the application
  2. Have completed (or are on track to complete) 100 hours of service (logged at HOBY.org) before the seminar
  3. Have an ambassador registered from their school
  4. Participate in seminar planning and preparation throughout the year
  5. Raise or donate $200 for HOBY Idaho
  • Assist with recruitment, fundraising, website, media, etc. during the seminar planning year
  • Assist senior staff in encouraging & empowering HOBY Idaho Ambassadors during the 2020 seminar
  • Full year commitment, September – June
  • Only HOBY Idaho alumni are accepted for this position
  • Assist with recruitment, fundraising, website, media, etc. during the seminar planning year.
  • Prepare & organize pre-planned activities throughout the 2020 seminar
  • Full year commitment, September – June
  • HOBY Idaho Alumni status is NOT required for Ops Team

Senior Staff (21 and older)

  1. Serves as a role model, mentor, & friend over approximately 10 ambassadors while participating in all seminar activities.
  2. Leads small group discussion and encourages ambassador participation during the seminar.
  3. Prior to the seminar, responsible for contacting ambassadors assigned to group
  4. Commit to the entire weekend from Thursday of the seminar weekend @ 5 p.m. to Sunday of the seminar weekend @ 4 p.m.
  • Document the leadership seminar activities and participants in photos and video.  HOBY Idaho can supply a camera if needed.
  • Post updates to HOBY Idaho social media throughout the seminar weekend.
  • Assist Director of Media with preparation of slideshow/video for closing ceremonies.
  • Commit to the entire weekend from Thursday of the seminar weekend @ 5 p.m. to Sunday of the seminar weekend @ 4 p.m.
  • Under the direction of Director of Operations, support pre-planned activities throughout the seminar
  • Commit to the entire weekend from Thursday of the seminar weekend @ 5 p.m. to Sunday of the seminar weekend @ 4 p.m.
  • Provide onside medical support during the seminar including basic first aid, medication control, etc.
  • Commit to the entire weekend from Thursday of the seminar weekend @ 5 p.m. to Sunday of the seminar weekend @ 4 p.m.
